The only internet experience second to searching is email (which Google also does well.) At the very least, there should be heavy focus on being properly indexed. In recognition of "Searching is everything," I believe your search bar should be placed at the top of the MAIN PAGE -- to show appreciation for the more STICKY site traffic. Top is generally the default location, right? A simple key-press, [END] or [PG DOWN] works around this, so perhaps you can leave it at the bottom for nested content. Does TOP:MAIN & BOTTOM:NESTED seem logical? Google is king of the internet. The only internet experience second to searching is email (which Google also does well.)
