Nick, she is getting better! The procedure shes just had is very invasive emergency surgery. I know exactly where you are coming from having had a good deal of this type of trauma within my family and friends. If this does one thing, it will remind you life is short, live it to the full and enjoy it.
Let her know that we are thinking of her and hoping shes up and giving you a hard time soon ;)

So sorry to hear about your wife Nick — let her know a whole bunch of computer geeks are wishing her a speedy recovery.
