Friday, October 28th, 2011 Ray’s Kitchen has taken over from Maks Place on William Street. Still has the same signage, same tired decor, and an almost identical menu of Malaysian/Singaporean hawker dishes. While I ate sparingly at Maks Place, I really enjoyed their Roti and Murtabak, but generally found the noodle and rice dishes disappointing. So what did I order first time at Ray’s Kitchen …

Friday, October 14th, 2011 The fittings and furnishings describe Ezra Pound as a grunge bar. As does the serving mixed drinks and cocktails in jam jars and longneck (750ml) beer in brown paper bags. But at least they have upgraded from VB to Cascade longnecks, since my last visit.

Friday, October 14th, 2011 Saigon Cafe is not my favourite Vietnamese eating establishment in Northbridge. I prefer Phong Vinh and Tra Vinh. However, I do eat here regularly, as I have a couple of colleagues who like eating here, wine is only $8.50 a carafe and the food is good.
