POSH or not ?

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

After reading Plain Old Semantic HTML (POSH) on the microformats wiki, it left me wonder exactly what is a POSH site. I agree with the POSH and will adopt any principles I am not currently using for the next version of this blog, I don’t know if it will make the grade as a POSH site.

The problem is that …

Annual CSS naked day

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

It is that time of the year for well formed sites to show off their proper use of html, semantic markup and good hierarchical structure. For more information see the Annual CSS Naked Day Site.

So for the next thirty six hours or so this site will be without it’s stylesheets. I had to do a little extra work, removing the IE only stylesheet and removing the javascript that inserted the flash images, otherwise you would end up with a couple of 1200px wide flash images on each page. The orange will return on Friday.

or why the Jebediah photoblog image is so small

One of the reasons I started the photoblog, was to experiment with the various web based photo applications, to find one I was going to use for the next couple of years. I had to start playing with one app, so I started with zooomr. Why because I had to start somewhere and zooomr are offering a free upgrade to a pro account to bloggers, who display their images hosted on zooomr with the tag line hosted on zooomr.

Blog whore or not

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Jeremy Keith has a pet peeve ads on blogs, and he calls those bloggers blog whores. I use to believe that ads did not belong on blogs, until I read Why People Want to Know What’s In It For *You*. As most my readers tend to visit via google, I will put ads on the next version of this site, just to increase the confidence of casual visitors.

Monday, December 11th, 2006

I have started work on a redesign of this blog, this post is to clarify my thoughts and elict your opinions on what is good, memorable or just damn ugly about this blog.

Changes to copyright for this blog.

Monday, November 20th, 2006

If you ever read my old copyright statement you found that I was very relaxed about the reuse of my content and released it under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License.

However, after seeing some of my content has turned up on splogs and I think splogs are evil and the bane of bloggers, I thought I should take the first step and change my copyright to Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 License.

If you can find a commercial use for my content, let me know and I will give you permission, unless you are intend to use it to just generate advertising revenue or for search engine manipulation.

Robert Nyman has published People who visit this web site (some statistics) on his blog, so I thought I would do a quick comparison with mine. In theory we write for the same audience, so here are my stats for the past nine months.
